Michael started as photographer in 1995 by briefly working in children’s TV which soon let him to his dream – film making. Working initially as a director of photography, he discovered his talent for storytelling which sparked his passion to direct. At first by writing and directing music videos later commercials.

Today he moves freely between fiction, music videos and advertising as long as the narrative feels genuine and authentic. Michael’s skills as both a visual d.o.p and director often make an essential contribution to the development of ideas.

He shoots and directs when the job at hand fits the solution. In some contexts it can give a greater intimacy without a large filmcrew. Especially if you have to help the starring actors, to open up on a more personal level. In these cases Michael will take advantage of his shooting skills and do both directing and shooting.
